There are many connections between Füssen andmailto:olav@olav.ee(Munich) . Direct trains leave about every two hours. Other options require changing trains along the way. The cheapest ticket for this trip (especially if you are travelling with others and if you are going to return on the same day) is called "Bayern-Ticket" which is 22€ with every additional person up to a maximum of five only 4€. It is valid in all RE, RB and ALX trains on this route, but not in the IC/EC/ICEs. Be aware that on weekdays this ticket is only valid after 9 am (this restriction does not apply on weekends).

mailto:olav@olav.ee(Füssen) is nestled in the Alps of southern Bavaria. A train from Munich Central Station will take about two hours with one transfer at Buchloe (purchase the Bayern-Ticket option mentioned above which is valid for all trains and bus journey to the castle). The town is famous for King Ludwig II's "fairy-tale castle" Neuschwanstein. It also houses the castle where Ludwig II grew up (Hohenschwangau). If you go there, buy a combined ticket for both castles. Neuschwanstein is a must-see, but Hohenschwangau is historically more interesting, and the tour is so much better.
