My wife and I didn't realize that we might be in a time crunch until after we ordered a rather large meal - for us. We asked our waitress to expedite the meal - which she did - thank you Stephanie - and got us out in plenty of time for our show. The food... we had the Saturday Special - 3 courses for $21. The first course for both of us was some excellent Tomato Bisque. It was not over basiled as some are, and had some nice tomato chunks in it. For the second course, she had the Flat Bread with Mozzarella - which was okay, but what happened to the tomatoes that were supposed to be part of the serving? I had the Crispy Shrimp with a spicy Thai sauce - which was a treat. My only quibble was its presentation on a chopped iceberg lettuce bed - better would have been it sitting on a partial, single leaf. On to the entree, which was a little disappointing for both of us - but, for different reasons. She ordered the Santa Reeta Chicken and then realized when she got it, that it was richer then she anticipated (she ended up with indigestion for the night) -definitely, not the restaurant's fault. Probably for the right customer it would have been good - for her, it rated an okay. I had the Prime Rib, which while tasty, was more well done then medium. We both felt the serving sizes were just right. I have to add that the acoustical level was a bit too high for a romantic tete-a-tete. I'm sorry we didn't have enough time - or appetite - to try the desserts - Snead's has a good looking selection.
