We had previously done the breakfast buffet on our last trip to Disney and when I found out we were coming over to Orlando last minute I managed to grab one reservation here so the kids could have a fun meal. The food wasn't bad- it's a buffet but breakfast buffets somehow always seem to be better to me than a regular one. You could make your own omelette, put together things like breakfast burritos and eat Mickey Waffles, Pancakes or whatever you wanted. The kids like breakfast so it was a lot of fun for them. A few things that weren't the greatest, apparently if you aren't a guest of WDW resorts you don't get a photo taken when you enter? I actually had purchased a Photopass package due to a park visit the day before so I was surprised when we bypassed the photo area. It's not a huge deal but it was odd nonetheless. I would have assumed they wouldn't want to miss a chance at a payment. The second thing that was sort of bad was that the majority of characters came by in rapid succession (that part was fine) but we were waiting and waiting for the Mad Hatter. We are talking about 30 minutes time and in fact characters had cycled through the entire dining room and came by our table a second time while we waited. The kids wanted to see him badly so we stayed on past our meal and the manager even came by and said he'd be right out. 10 minutes later she was sort of right, he did pop out of the kitchen and went to another table. Oh well. It wasn't a huge deal because we had nowhere to be but I am sure it was frustrating for diners wanting to go on to fast passed rides or shows at the parks. Our total including tip was a little over 100 for 1 adult and 3 kids which wasn't bad, and the fact I just said that isn't bad shows how jaded I've become to Disney's food prices. The staff was nice enough, parking was easy and the Grand Floridian is just such a beautiful hotel.
