Some local friends met us here for dinner. Very close to the BART station, and I would definitely not recommend walking or taking the bus because the neighborhood seemed pretty rough. There is no alcohol served in this restaurant, and they only accept cash. The fried plantain appetizer was delicious. The pupusas were great. There was a substantial wait for them to be prepared, but they warned of this on the menu in advance. Keeping water in our glasses seemed to be a challenge. Cozy, and definitely a destination for locals. La Santaneca is worth trying, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. Very authentic Salvadorean experience.
