It was somewhat surprising to see that this bar is not rated higher on TripAdvisor. People that expect more classy environment should probably stick to places like City Tap House. This is more of a off-beaten path place, which has its advantages and drawbacks. I did see more positives than negatives, however. First of all, this place has an impeccable selection of beers. It is almost impossible to go with only one drink and leave after. From what I understand, this place also has almost daily food specials, which is great. Moreover, every now and then it hosts a free comedy night by the upcoming amateur stand-up comedians, which we were lucky to witness. The service was absolutely outstanding (but that's a hit or miss) and the bartender did compensate us fairly for the waitress'/kitchen's mess-up. As mentioned by the previous reviewers, this bar is definitely a low-key one and you cannot expect a lot from it. It somewhat reminds me of our own Montreal bar Foufounes Electriques by its dingy appearance (not in a bad way), funky decor and underground atmosphere. However, it definitely is worth a try. There is no doubt that I would go back there again on my next trip to D.C.
