I make an annual trip to San Francisco to visit my step-daughter and her Guatemalan husband. They introduced us to this wonderful restaurant in the Mission district, which is a favorite place for them to eat at. There are plenty of items on the menu, but we go for the pupusas, which are like stuffed pancakes. Each one is about 3-4 inches round and can be stuffed with whatever you choose from the menu such as cheese, vegetables or meat. The cost is $3 to $3.50 for two. Two are enough since they're very filling. The meal comes with "cole slaw" and a few sauces for toppings. The restaurant is small and cozy. There are some tables for two or four. Otherwise you can also dine family style in a long table in the center. I would also recommend their Sangria. Sometimes there is a wait, but it is well worth it! There is also a small bar at the restaurant. the
