The concierge at our hotel recommended this place, which was right around the corner. Upon arriving, we thought it was closed, because the door was locked. You have to ring the bell to get in! The owner, Ricardo, welcomed us warmly. He seated us among the few tables inside, and was happy to help us. His English was not great, but he tried his best. He is animated, friendly and takes great pride in his restaurant. He runs it with his wife, Ana, who is the chef. Because it's just the two of them, you have to be patient. It may take a while. (Ricardo may tell you, "I'm just one person!"). But it's well worth it. The food is homey, delicious and prepared with care. The fish was super fresh, grilled to perfection and deboned tableside. The desserts were great as well, especially the flan (pudding). We enjoyed our meal so much we cancelled our reservation at another more formal restaurant the next night and went back. It was consistent and great. Highly recommended!
