So you want to organise a wedding? Don't do it here!! So you want to organise a wedding? Don't do it here!! The staff said yes to everything, just to get our deposit. I was looking for a venue for me and my future wife. So we started looking 11 months in advance. That may seem a long way out but with a lot of internationals coming from all over we had to give a lot of notice. The function rooms looked nice, once you took away the tacky ornaments that management had placed around, I mean the centrepieces that were offered, yuck! Also who has only one way of folding napkins at winner of the best wedding venue of the year? I'll be questioning the award givers on this one! So the Savoy got the deposit. My fiancée drew up the room for them, labelled the tables and we set about organising the rest of one of the most important days of our lives. I called to go over the room set-up as agreed upon (to get the deposit). No one was available, they would call back. No one called back. I booked in my birthday dinner there in December 2015. Met Ian the one lovely human who seemed to understand that our wedding was important. I guess we can also include Bernard who answered the phone each time we called. He was also nice. We decided to deal with Ian, being assured he was a manager and would look after us. Meanwhile we're organising rooms close by for guests and working with companies across the globe for what we want included for our wedding. I call again. The answer: "Sorry no one can help you at the moment. You'll have to call back as we're very busy and you probably won't be able to come in until about June 2016." This was said in late January. “Can we speak with Ian?” I asked. "I'll leave a message for him to call you back" was the response. All the while I'm thinking, 'yeah right! Seems to me communication is shot between anyone and everyone at this place.' Of course no response ever comes and a month or so later we decide, with no further communication from them, and no seat
