I feel it is the customers' choice to tip,rath...
We booked for 7pm on a Sunday evening which is a bit early to judge the ambiance, but the bar was warm and attractive if quiet. There were gas "open" fires which made it cosy. We both had the beef Sunday roast following recommendations read here. The roast beef was excellent -pink, tender and tasty, but for me the meal was a bit disappointing as it was accompanied by a Yorkshire pudding, two small potatoes and two pieces of parsnip. As a fan of vegetables I would have expected a Sunday roast to have at least a green vegetable or two. My partner had profiteroles for dessert which he deemed very good. I was also a bit miffed at the "discretionary" 12 and a half % service charge automatically added to the Bill. I feel it is the customers' choice to tip, rather than to have the embarrassment of saying you are not going to pay it on principle. (My was not willing to do this when he paid.) A bit of a disappointment for the price for me.
