Classic clubhouse fare like fish & chips, fried rice, hainanese curry, fried potato chips is served in an old school atmosphere that harkens back to the 1950's. The place is not air conditioned which is perfect for the cool weather if you're lucky. Apparently, back in the day, Colbar even served food to a series of eminent local sports teams. They've even preserved some of the antiques of those days like an old school weighing machine. The wall is adorned with photos of the days that used to be. They have a great collection of beers with some rather hip names & while the food didn't wow me, It's certainly a good place for a sneak into the kind of humble coffee shops (now expensive) that used to populate Singapore. Go here more for the ambience & less for the food. Order a drink & a side of chips & you'll be well on your way.
