...eek of the Mexican Independence Day celebration
My wife and I found this place by accident, the result of a Yelp search when we got hungry while driving back to Las Vegas from the Valley of Fire State Park. The restaurant is located about 20 minutes from the Strip. We arrived about 3PM on a Saturday afternoon during the week of the Mexican Independence Day celebration. The restaurant was busy, but not crowded, with several Mariachi bands performing at tables. The staff and clientele were all Spanish speaking (except us), but our waitress was very friendly and had sufficient English skills to guide us in our food choices. Highlights included a fantastic mixed seafood cocktail, the best chile rellenos we have ever had, and a local Mexican drink called Michelada (beer mixed with lime juice and other ingredients served in a frosted salt rimmed glass). Prices were very reasonable and serving size was huge.
