In the past we have always had a good experience at Nicola's. Not this time. The owner wasn't present and the service and food were well below what we have come to expect. First, the person in charge claimed that the wifi was down so the reservation on open table that we made had not been received. After a brief wait, we were seated in the covered outside area of the restaurant and we were basically ignored. Someone finally showed up to take our order. After about 35 minutes, we were brought our salads together with the pizza and pasta that we ordered. You would think that the salad should be brought first, right? The salad (chopped Italian with chicken) was good. The pasta (Penne Pomodoro) was bland. The pizza was way too salty. It tasted like someone had dumped an entire container of salt on it. We were thirsty for hours afterwards. Nobody stopped at our table to ask if the food was good or if we needed anything else. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I hope that this was a one-time aberration.
