I grew up in the Valley and have eaten at Las Fuentas (a sister restaurant in Reseda) since 1982. Whenever I return to L.A. I visit Señor Sol, Las Fuentas, and Melody's (all family owned/operated) to fill up on real Mexican food (which is hard to find on the East coast). Each restaurant has a different menu, but some similar offerings---everything is delicious, the portions are large, & the cost is reasonable. Senor Sol is located on the west side of Reseda Blvd., north of Nordhoff Street. Parking is available in the rear or on the street. It is a small restaurant where you order food and they deliver it to your table. On my recent visit I enjoyed a beef enchilada stuffed with shredded beef and a crispy chicken taco, with rice & beans. My son had a chicken quesadilla which he loved. Chips are free (1 bowl) and the salsa bar is varied with mild to spicy offerings. Tell Mario hello for me!
