The Friedrichsruh used to be my regular haunt when I still used to live in Stuttgar. I got many fond memories from there. It's a bit of a way out and you may have to walj the last few hundred yards because of limited parking. When you get passes the 'Onkel Otto', which also is quite nice, you are nearly there. I would recommend a visit especially during the summer months because, it's just so nice to sit outdoors in the beergarden. The indoors seating is also okay though. The food and drink was reasonably priced and also of good quality. But I used to go there more for the beauty of the location (you can see the lovely Rotenberg Kapelle, a 19th century mausoleum) on top of one of the vineyards opposite. It's just very idyllic and the large beergarden also has a family friendlt feel to it. It will be on top of my list for my next visit to Stuttgart.
