We were looking for a little lunch near our I-Drive hotel, and I remember Pollos Pio Pio. This was a wonderful stop. i thought it a good sign when we walked in to hear very little English being spoken. We were seated and given menus. The waiter suggested a Colombian beer, it was quite light, but refreshing when served in a frosted mug on a warm day. We were not greatly hungry and we had a dinner plan, so we decided to share an appetizer and an entree between the two of us. We ordered a mixed ceviche with shrimp, fish, and the usual suspects. We enjoyed the ceviche and devoured it in record time. Our entree was half of a rotisserrie chicken served with rice, beans, and plantains. The chicken was wonderful the skin was brown and crispy. The meat remained moist and flavorful. It was served with a spicy sauce. I do not particularly enjoy cooked and sweetened plantains, but they were prepared properly. I did think the beans and rice were a tasty and appropriate accompaniment. We enjoyed Pio Pio and heartily recommend it! Nice people, great food.
