You get a warm reception from the hostess to start with and she'll explain everything you want to know about the food, which is quite exceptional. I'm not a regular normal visitor to nouveau cuisine but I would say this is near to if not at it. The presentation is fantastic. Even if you have just a pasta dish it comes looking fantastic. All the dishes looked amazing to us and we do know a bit about food ourselves as we cook all our meals from scratch every evening using fresh ingredients. She starts you off with a little aperitif, which doesn't go on the bill. Unbelievably the house wine is only 10 euro's a bottle and is great. We had a lot of fish in our two courses, which we eat half of each. We ordered red house wine with it which probably most people would opt for white. Having sniffed the cork to check the wine was Ok, the hostess, ( I wish we took her name) proceeded to tell us that the wine was from the sangiovese grape which is quite light and OK with fish. Well we were't expecting a wine expert as well as a food expert. Needless to say she is charming as well. They make their own bread, which on this occasion was one with walnut and another with carraway seed, presented in a little cloth basket. It probably goes without saying that we went back a few days later having booked and the food was just as good as was the hostess. They really care about their food here and at these prices it is really a fantastic find.
