I have tasted high quality South Indian food in Kolkata, mainly Tamilians from Madurai, during my early days, before shifting to Mumbai - where the Udipis - spread across the city - dish out a kind of terrible South Indian food. Murugan was a pleasant experience (I have eaten their food in Chennai), because the superb quality and taste of the food. Singapore has an advantage - the rules here compel you to be neat and clean - high standards - at a cost.
