After completing the hike from Kurama we were excited to reach Kibune and try the kawadoka dining over the river for lunch. The location was easy to find...it's right along the river. The staff was very friendly and efficient. There are many places that offer kawadoka; the manager at Nakayoshi was very encouraging and made us feel welcome even with our very limited Japanese. We opted for the "lighter" tofu lunch, which was huge with many small dishes to try. Everything was intricate and delicious, but not fussy. This was the less expensive option, but it was still a pricey lunch. Dining over the river was refreshing and unique. Worth every penny. My husband enjoyed the souvenir fans we received as well.
