I spent more than five months in Pokhara and found Babylon to be my favourite chill-out place. The prices are very good and not like some of the places on the main strip that overcharge. The owner Shekhar is awesome and works very hard on this and his other businesses (Babylon Beer Garden down the road and a guest house). His brother Prakash is also a lovely guy and I will always remember both of them. The bar/cafe is not the biggest or the most luxurious and it requires climbing a few stairs to get to, but the views are as good as anywhere in Pokhara, and the atmosphere is so relaxed it really is the ideal spot. They play a lot of different music and they encourage you to pick what you want to play aswell. The pool table is one of the better ones in Pokhara, although beware playing the owner for money (which he loves to do!) unless you are a really good player like me! They don't have that much food on the menu, but you can order Pizza and other things. Babylon Cafe has a vibe that makes it feel like a family for the regulars and people do tend to keep coming back. It's just a shame that being up so high most people pass right by and never find out. Overall a place that is very relaxed and it made my stay in Pokhara better. One day maybe I'll climb those stairs once again and see my friends.... Ben (UK)
