Sunday eve, we went there because we were in San Lorenzo for a brief work stay. Besides us, a family of 8 inside, and perhaps 3 or 4 tables outside that were occupied. The friendly waiter asked if we were interested in fish, they had a - and I didn't get the name - freshly brought in. It was described as a "smaller relative of a tuna", around 30 kg. We saw a photo of it on a smartphone. Certainly not tuna family, but maybe cod or salmon family. Whatever, we went for it, grilled. Since this would take some time, we shared a parma/melon starter. No problems there. The fish arrived, and seemed fresh and well seasoned. But it was quite raw inside. Back to the kitchen. This happens now and then, of course. But while the fish was being re-grilled, the waiters left our contorni (oven roasted potatoes) on the table to get nice and cold. When we got the fish, I have to admit that we were not big fans - there were bits and pieces of very dark, bitter meat bordering on the quite acceptable parts. But no complaints about the freshness. So, we wound up feeling that we had been faced with two mistakes from the kitchen (filleting and grilling) and one from the waiting staff (leaving the contorni to chill). It becomes a pattern, a bit much even on an 'off day' with almost no customers.
