We knew going in that this was a tourist-driven business, but it wasn't a problem since we wanted to try the famed Roman Jewish-style artichokes and Suppli. Those were fairly decent. However, we ordered pasta with truffles and a pizza and they were bland and soggy, respectively. We were also given a basket of bread and charged 3 Euro for it and we were not told. I heard this happens at many restaurants in Rome so I let it go even after I saw the bill. When my pizza arrived it wasn't cut, and I realize that this is normal in Rome, but when I asked to have it cut you would think I insulted the family of the waitress. I didn't get the big deal. Yes, I'm American, sorry I came to your city to share in your culture. How about a little mutual respect for the things we're used to? It's no big deal, cut the pizza. Anyway, I could have overlooked the overcharging and bland food if the service wasn't so rude - when I paid my bill the waitress wouldn't even look my way and snatched the receipt from me. Just an odd way to treat the very people who keep your subpar business running.
