We were rcommended to this restaurant by friends as a good place for lunch and they were absolutely right. By 1,00pm it was buzzing and we were glad we had booked for an earlier time. Service was very professional and the set lunch menu was just to our tase. We explained to the charming sommelier that while we were very familiar with a French wine list, we had lost touch with wines from elswhere and were trying to avoid French wines as far as possible. He suggested a perfect match to our chosen food funnily enough a wine that my husband had already mentioned.. We both had smoked eel in a beetroot broth to start and the main was pan-fried cod with cockles and chorizo. Both dishes were well judged and delicious. For dessert I had a pumpkin cheese cake with plum sauce and sorbet and chocoholic husband indulged himself with a dark chocolate creation which rendered him silent until he had finished it! Lovely sweetmeats with the coffee ended our meal. Just what was needed by one of us after a morning shopping!
