When the craving for "different" food happened, we drove to Barracuda on Jumeriah Road - and although we did know about the excellent Egyptian cuisine served there, we had never quite "explored" it. And, truth be told - we still wonder why we never went there before! Let's get the smaller things out of the way - the outdoor seating (right on the pavement) isn't very comfortable because of the noise - so, I'd suggest a table indoors. The cold appetisers are very different - not your regular hummous and tabouleh, instead there are numerous options that include seafood. We had cuttlefish with onion and tomatoes, beetroot and messaka - go easy on these - in view of what is to come! The seafood soup was alright - and you could totally skip it - because the main course is quite bit! We had - Sayyadiya (seafood) and Singray (a specialty here) - where the fish is opened, bones removed and oven grilled with a special mix). Okay - we couldn't finish it all - but if you are a big eater, add another dish to your main course.
