This restaurant was just a half block from our hotel, and we stopped by every evening for beers following hot days of sightseeing. The staff, especially Robbie and Yusef, quickly became friends. They love to clown around ("It's showtime!" was a familiar cry) and when they learned I had a soft spot for the stray cats in the neighborhood, they'd set aside a few pieces of leftover salami so that I might feed them. Each time we stopped by we ended up talking with fellow travelers - it is that kind of an easygoing atmosphere. The night we stayed for dinner was a great deal of fun. We ordered the chef's special, a spicy meat stew for two that is served in a flaming dish, the presentation of which was a show in itself. The stew (105 Turkish lira) was superb, filled with beef and vegetables in a rich gravy. We each had two glasses of wine, I had a cappuccino (a good one, at that) and they served us small pieces of complementary baklava. The bill came to 160 TL (roughly $55) plus tip. I would highly recommend this café.
