Stumbled over this small neighborhood restaurant close to all the hotels on the north side of Taksim Square, and enjoyed two dinners here in a week. The service is very good - the waiter speaks good English - and the food was excellent. They gave me free appetisers of excellent yogurt and garlic dip & a tomato dish, with very good bread. The lentil soup was delicious, with hot, fresh puffy bread, and the pizza was wonderful. Total price - 18 Turkish lira. I recommend this restaurant for those on a budget, as well as those looking for a less touristy experience - with lots of locals dining there, it is obviously popular. I would give it 5 stars, except that the menu is fairly restricted (no fish, and only one dessert).
