Pattaya has a large Indian population, which accounts for the large number of Indian restaurants. In some parts of town it seems there are more Indian restaurants than Thai restaurants. Kohinoor is a well-established restaurant offering a men of Tandoori specialties, Indian appetizers and starters, vegetarian dishes, and chicken, mutton, egg, and seafood curries, along with a selection of Indian breads, including roti, nan, and chapattis. We settled for a Mutton Karahi, a well-balanced curry of tender mutton to which was added at the last moment sliced onions and green capsicums (bell peppers), thus retaining their crispness and freshness. We ate it with roti, and washed it down with a couple of Leo beers. For starters we ordered some poppadum, which came with a tangy Indian mint sauce. We nibbled at these while we waited for our main course. Total bill was a reasonable 540 baht. Service was quick and professional, with the waiter giving us good advice on the various dishes.
