My wife and I landed in Singapore this morning for a few days. We are staying just off Orchard Road and had lunch this afternoon at their outlet in Orchard Gateway as we wanted to experience the local cuisine. Our first time back in the Lion City after nearly 12 years. The menu looked decent and we shared two dishes - Fresh Prawns with Crispy Noodles and Vegetables in a broth, and Roast Pork. The latter was acceptable but a small portion while the former was bland and needed spicing up. When we were shown to our table, the server placed small bowls of pickled vegetables and peanuts as well as two wet wipes. We assumed this was complimentary until we paid the bill ......The charge was nominal (3.60 Singapore Dollars) but it is a matter of principal - we should have been advised of the charge. Service was acceptable but our overall experience was distinctly average. Unlikely to revisit.
