While the other lady who works there is not the friendliest person I've ever met, both mama and her husband are. Her husband especially is friendly and polite, and he's also a professor at one of the local universities with a Phd in Anthropology. Unfortunately, the way salaries work for local educators is appalling, so they have the restaurant, too. They not only serve the cheapest food in all the restaurants and guesthouses in the area, it's got the biggest portions and some of the highest quality. One of the only places where the fruit salad is larger than normal and with a less inflated price. The beef stew is SO. GOOD. It sold out on me one day, and I can see why. Once she was able to serve it to me for breakfast, which was awesome. It just depends on her stock. I didn't try any other dishes after discovering the deliciousness of that one, but I imagine all her Khmer food is equally as good. Recommend.
