I have eaten at Darband three times since I returned to Budapest to live in 2015, and it is one of my favorite restaurants. A friend and I discovered it in the fall of 2015 and it has become something of a ritual to return on Friday night when we want some Persian food in a cozy environment after a busy week at school. The menu is quite varied, with soups, salads, sauces, starters, kebab, as well as traditional Persian stews and meat dishes. On Friday nights they also have a buffet that is very popular, as well as a good selection of wine, beer, juices, and sodas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Usually the proprietress waits on customers, and the first time we ate there the cook came out to find out if we enjoyed our food, because we had told the owner how eager we were to find a Persian restaurant in Budapest. In addition to the helpful staff, the atmosphere at Darband is cozy and relaxing, and everything----food, staff, atmosphere, combine to make the experience of eating here delightful.
