14 family members attended this afternoon to celebrate my brother in laws 45th birthday. We all live on the Wirral. Expectations were low due to the price for a 3 course meal. £6.95. What are you kidding me!!. I ordered leak and potatoe soup / roll and butter for starter. Main, Thick cut silver side roast beef , proper Yorks pudding, fresh veg, lovely roast potatoes and lashings of gravy. To follow sticky toffee pudding and custard. There were other choices for mains starters and afters. On the wirral we would have paid £6.95 for the mains alone along with an extra £2 or £3 and it wouldnt have been as good. Furthermore cask beers and exemplory friendly service. What else would you wish for. To put it into prospective my wife and I ate out in Chester on Friday evening at a well known Italian restaurant . Sergios. We were regulars but unfortunately never again. A two course meal for 2 cost £50. In comparisson the meal at the Railway, which cost £14 was 100 per cent better. My wife and I usually eat in so called classy restaurants , which in reality is a farce. If you want good home cooked quality food and beer try the Railway. We will return
