So let me start this off by saying that I love small, locally owned restaurants. Especially ones that have been around for half a century or longer. It's close by and I heard good things about it. I really really really wanted to like this place but the food was just very average. I felt like I could have put a sub of equal or greater value together at home. I loved the small shop feel when I went in and the customer service was great, but the product did not stand up to the reviews. I had a rueben sandwhich and my wife had a hot philly cheese sub. Based on her report it tasted alright and at least it certainly looked better than mine. My rueben was bland and simple. We also got a ham sandwich for our 4 year old son and it was also a bit lack luster. Possibly part of it was the bread that they use which wasn't dry it just wasn't moist and fluffy. They came out of bags so I'm assuming that they aren't baked fresh which at least you can get from Publix or even Subway. Overall the meat and bread were mediocre and unimpressive. Even though it is a local shop and love supporting local business I just can't bring myself to go there again when Publix is right down the street with a much better sub.
