We love our Chinese food, and we are so happy to have found a great place for both yum cha and dinner so close to where we live. We've lived in the area for just over 5 years, and have been searching for a yum cha restaurant to add to our selection. We often yum cha at Chatswood, and occasionally at Rhodes, but we are so very pleased to have found King's in Eastwood. We have tried both their yum cha and their dinner menu, and enjoyed both meals very much. The selection of food at yum cha was bigger than I expected. The kids loved their lotus leaf sticky rice - the whole plate of rice disappeared into their eager little mouths. Hubby and I enjoyed the steamed dumplings and other treats. Everything tasted fresh and flavoursome. The price was on par with what I was expecting, which made us want to return again and again. I invited a small group of friends to share my birthday dinner at King's last weekend, and booked ahead for a table of 10. Glad I did book ahead, as the restaurant was full an hour into our meal. I ordered a good selection of food: duck pancakes and sang choy bows, sweet & sour pork, honey king prawns, salt & pepper squid, szechuan beef, stir fried greens and chicken fried noodles for the kids, and all the dishes were amazing. The kids loved the noodles and each of the kids had seconds! The service is a bit patchy, but is on par with what I expected from a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant did try to charge me $15 for white rice for dinner, which was ordered but never arrived at the table. It took a good 5 minutes of checking, double checking, triple checking, humming and harring before they took the $15 off the bill. That put a small bad taste in my mouth on an otherwise enjoyable evening.
