Have to admit I'm a bit tired of the restaurants in Italy that offer "real Italian cuisine" then serve you up frozen lasagne, especially in the more touristy areas. This little place doesn't blow its own trumpet too much from the outside, but I found it a welcome change to the many overpriced, decidedly average fanfaring Roman eateries in the centre. Its interior is like a classy version of Ikea...lots of brightly coloured plastic, furniture made out of pallets and Turkish style cushions. The atmosphere is quite quiet and the fact that they have free wi-fi suggests it is a haven for the IT generation. My only criticism is the bathroom...it was clean but a bit pungent with a tiny little washhand basin that seemed to also function as a shower when you turn the tap on... The food is unpretentious, well-presented and reasonably priced. If you're not looking for violins, checked tablecloths and sweaty waiters but just want somewhere quiet to enjoy a sandwich or salad at a stone's throw away from the Altar of the Fatherland, give it a try...
