My biggest disappointment in Rome was this - businesses trying to rob you everywhere. Someone may find me foolish, but I have never experienced such things in other places. Vienna - expensive, but same for everyone. Greece - not only that it is cheap, but they give you free desserts, discount coupons to come again, portions for buffalo... Rome - it's a different world. :( This thing of a restaurant is close to Vatican. You cannot escape it. It's on your way. You see it. You pass next to it. It looks traditional - simple tables, like some village taverna. You enter. And you are done with civilization. This is one of the places that doesn't give you normal fiscal bill, but writes you that fake bill where they charge you additionally for VAT, service and million more things. At the end, instead of 40, you'll pay 80. Food is bad anyway, so no need to suffer this illegal stuff for the food. Not worth it. Just starve, it's better, trust me.
