Over the past 15 years I've made regular business trips to downtown LA. Some years back I was introduced to this smallish restaurant and I've made it a tradition to stop there for lunch. I've in turn introduced many colleagues to this restaurant and every one of them has come away impressed and desirous of returning. It is interesting that you can find Korean food in Little Tokyo but I don't think you can find a more delicious and filling plate of food. They have a few tables outside, if that is what you like. Otherwise, you sit inside at booths for four or tables for two. In the back they do have one table that'll seat six. Service is prompt and efficient. Place your order and you'll be eating quickly enough. The dish I prefer is their spicy pork entree. For $10.99 you get a hot clear broth up front, followed by a sizzling platter of pork, beef, or chicken (or a combo mix) atop a bed of finely chopped cabbage. The hot meat is sliced very thin and has a wonderful sauce. The heat of the meat tends to heat up the cabbage. With the meat platter you get the obligatory bowl of rice, a small green salad with a rice vinegar dressing, a small dish of bean sprouts, another small dish of greens. and a small dish of mild chopped-up kimchi. All of this makes up for a delicious filling meal. This is certainly not fine dining but I love this simple clean place and its wonderful food.
