...d the wine list was not too aggressively priced
As it was Valentine’s Day, we treated ourselves to the set 6-course menu and in the main we were not disappointed. The dining room is lovely, and we enjoyed one of the more private window bays. Service was superb and the wine list was not too aggressively priced. As for the food, we could have missed the mango ‘shooter’, but the rest of the dishes were very good. A saffron risotto was cooked perfectly and the accompanying scallops were soft and tasty. The 'cappuccino' of wild mushrooms (fancy soup in essence) was suitably rich. I don't normally choose veal but the little nuggets of veal wrapped in prosciutto were very good indeed. The set menu is pricey, but it was a special night.
