You know after a long and busy day when you just want to find a place to eat and don't care what it is? At first, that's what Maeda Shokudo was for us. But after digging in, we all marked this soba place as one of the best restaurants in Okinawa. We all also ordered seconds and thirds. Between the beef dish, and the multiple pork dishes, it was hard to determine which was best. The beef soba comes with bean sprouts layered on top of noodles and was just incredible. The bacon in another soba was tender, a little sweet and absolutely savory. The pork ribs were simply amazing! I can honestly say, this is hands down one of the top places I've eaten at in Okinawa. In addition, my wife said this is the place she's been looking for because she doesn't eat pork. The food came out fast and the staff were friendly - despite us all having loud children. In fact, one of the waitresses gave our friend's daughter a sweet before we left. It was funny, though as we left because we literally ate the last of everything they had and the restaurant had to turn customers away who came after us. If it was a lot closer to Uruma - we'd probably go there at least weekly. Definitely worth the visit, especially after some exploring in the northern parts of Okinawa. -J
