A takeaway / eat in diner in the corner of the convenience store / Canada Post on Davie / Howe? Doesn't sound too promising? But it is! I had been attracted by the smell of well cooked Indian food every time I used the Post Office so I gave it a try. Not cheap - not expensive. Mid-week lunchtime, proprietor - who says that he has two other outlets in the City (and from the press cuttings on display has clearly come to food preparation after several other careers) is cooking / serving. Very friendly and accommodating. Bucket of tandoori chicken ($15) is v.good as is the butter chicken ($10 as a platter with rice, naan) - although not a lot of chicken in this! Even the 'not very' spicey options were pretty spicey!! There are facilities - bar stools - for eating in and the food is prepared in an open area. A good option for a quick 'street food' experience.
