Good fish & chips is a real treat and Pajo's does a great job. Offering more than just fish & chips, they have chowder, salmon Ceasar salad, chicken burgers, hot dogs and they offer different sizes of portions as well as the choice of cod, halibut salmon - and there is a gelato shop next door! We go for the fish & chips with our preference being for halibut and we enjoyed a pleasant outdoor meal at the Garry Point location last night. Pajo's also has locations on the Steveston docks, Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, and Gates Park in Port Coquitlam. We haven't yet been to either of the newer 2 locations in Port Moody and Port Coquitlam, but we have made repeat visits to both locations in Steveston. They don't provide indoor dining at either of these locations - it is outdoors at picnic benches or in the car. You get freshly fried, crisply battered fish and tasty fries. On a decent day you can sit and watch fishing boats, recreational boats, tugs and barges go by with ferries off in the distance. Sea gulls gather round hoping for a bit of a meal. There is lots of park and beach area to work up an appetite before your meal or to work off some of the calories after eating. A few years Fisheries Canada decided to do some DNA testing on some of the fish being served in and around Vancouver: a number of restaurants were selling lower priced white fleshed fish as some of the more expensive type of fish (selling cod under the guise and higher price of halibut for instance - and this wasn't just fish & chips locations - the testing included some sushi restaurants) - Pajo's came out of those tests with their name in good standing - no substitutions. Some of the other restaurants used shabby and shameful excuses such as "the supplier was out of xxxx on that day" or "not everyone is familiar with xxxx fish so we said it was cod/halibut because the fish is similar and the customer knows what it is". Pajo's served what they said they were serving and this has won our loyalty as be
