Really not sure why the Blythe is listed as a restaurant, not sure they even do food beyond the crisps and scratchings - but that's part of what makes it so great. It's a real throwback, makes me feel like I'm in the sort of pub my dad would have enjoyed when I was a boy. The focus is very firmly on beer and cider, they have an interesting rotating selection of both (try the Bee Sting, if you dare) plus excellent Guinness - best I've encountered outside Ireland. It feels like a proper community hub, has three bars with different but good atmospheres and a pleasant large garden with ample seating and a kids play area. Sports shown but not intrusive, Irish music and such on at times but there's always a quiet corner to enjoy your pint if that's what you're there for. My local and I feel very lucky to have it.
