... an extensive sake list and wine to choose from
I was wandering aimlessly on Stanley Street and wanted to try something new. I was looking around and I tilted my head and saw the window of Sanka. It looks interesting enough so I went up to the 1st floor (apparently they have moved from Lynhurst Terrace to Stanley Street for a year already) As I walked into the reception area, I was greeted by the manager and asked if I would like to look at the menu first. It is on the high end, but I was very eager to try. They seated me and I choose the light weight set menu HKD 1480. I was greeted by the chef (Mr Takano). The experience was very good and we started chatting. There were quite a number of dishes on this set menu: Steam Egg with Truffle, Lobster, Abalone, Sole Fish, Miyazaki Tenderloin, Fried Rice and Dessert. There is an extensive sake list and wine to choose from. I really enjoyed this Teppanyaki place but it is too pricey for regular visits. They have great cooking and customer service principles where they insist one chef to one party. The only thing that they can improve on is their attentiveness. The waiters came to replace my plates very rapidly and makes me feel disturbed. I think they can loosen up a bit on this. I have seen the lunch menu which is quite reasonable. Overall, I am very happy with this restaurant.
