We're lucky enough to live around the corner from Chester White and we visit regularly, almost religiously before a big (running) race. Small and intimate, doesn't take bookings, but the guys running the show will endeavour to seat you somewhere. If not, they'll pop your name down and give you a call when a spot is free. Small menu, but done well. Have to admit I always have the same thing...cheese and meat platter and then spaghetti from their pecorino wheel. They always argue that the spaghetti is too much for one person, but I always prove them wrong. Nice, but again small, selection of wines and a couple of beers. Service can get a bit chaotic when it's at its busiest, but it's always friendly and otherwise prompt and attentive. Cracking little place.
