Having arrived at our hotel before check in time we found this little pub for some much needed food. It is about a twelve minute tram ride away from the city centre. This is important as the locals out this way are not great with English. And my Czech is zero. Luckily this place has an English menu. The welcome was warm. As you walk in you notice smoke. To the right is the no smoking section. It is well separated, very spacious and airy. The waitress tried her best English and we pointed and nodded. I have to say, I felt quite ignorant that I couldn't even say thank you, or hello in Czech. I ordered 'macaroni cheese', the sauce was made with four cheeses, one of which was blue. It was very nice. Food was made fresh and was warm, service was prompt. There was no pushy service. Water was supplied free in a jug with ice and lemon. In terms of value we paid less than 400 Czech crown for two mains, chips and two drinks, about £10 We went back that night. Again two mains - beef goulash and burger/chips (asked for your burger well done! - mine was very pink, but tasty). This time we had wine and bottled water and we paid roughly the same. Very good, freshly made food. We were recognised from that afternoon. Would I go back? Yes, but there are places I would go to before this one, but if you are out this way you really can't go wrong
