What a great place to saddle up to for a session on the beers. I found Kamala Beer Garden to be a very clean, comfortable and very very friendly place to pull up stumps and relax for the night with a few cold cheap frothies. The owner Greg, the big Canadian, could not do enough to accomodate me and made sure every time I visited his bar on my holiday that I was well looked after and would come across to where I was sitting everytime (more than 10 times I think in 2 weeks ) just to shake my hand and say g'day and ask what my day involved. He even shouted me more than a couple of icy cold frothies. A very personal touch which is what is missing these days in a lot of other bars and hotels around the world. His staff were always very welcoming everytime I walked into the bar, always had huge smiles on their faces, looked after your every need, never kept you waiting for a cold one and were always happy to share a laugh and a joke with you and always keen for a game of pool if you're up for it..... And all good players to I might ad. Everybody I met ( foreigners ) in the Beer Garden all had the same to say...." This is the best bar in Phuket". Some would even travel a great distance from their homes elsewhere in Phuket just to visit the Beer Garden and play in the friendly and fun pool comp every Wednesday night. The Beer Garden also has many huge screens to quench any sports fans thirst, and the kitchens cook up a great feed. I had quite a few meals there and was never disappointed but have to say the Beer Garden special pizza was the best of them. I would like to say a huge thank you to Greg, Sim, Pa, Jum, Mild and the rest of his staff for making my holiday to Kamala a most memorable and enjoyable experience. I will definately be coming back to Kamala and dropping in to the Beer Garden to catch up with all my new friends and sharing a few cold frothies. I implore all Aussies if ever in Kamala beach in Phuket to look past the Aussie Pub down the road( full of Aussies )
