I took my daughter to George Washington University for a summer internship, and while relaxing at the hotel read about Campono in the hotel's restaurant guide. It was highlighted as a new place with great wood fired pizza. We decided to give it a try. Campono's is sort of fast casual - you order at the bar from a select list of pizzas (although you can build your own) and they bring it to your table. We chose to sit outside, with a view of the Kennedy Center, on a nice Saturday evening. The pizza was great, thin, crispy crust and good toppings. We also split a good Greek salad. The food, service and location were all very nice. I hope to go again the next time I'm in DC.
