I ordered two saj for lunch one plain zatar and one cheese with muhamarah. I must say the food arrived very fast, the lady who took the order over the phone was very efficient and the delivery guy very polite and had exact change. The food arrived nicely packed as each saj was in a separate aluminium boxes, the lids were punched to allow some air in, a trick very few know but that is necessary to avoid excess heating where the baked dough would turn lumpy. The dough was very well made and cooked to perfection, the fillings however, had some issues. The zatar was ok, slightly better than in most other bakeries but not great. The cheese-muhamarah filling was nice and spicy and crunchy with walnuts but it had too much garlic, an ingredient that shouldn’t even be there!! It also had nigella seeds which is fine if you have plain cheese but again it just alters the flavor of muhamara. Unfortunately there are very few places here in Dubai that knows how to make good muhamara. Overall the experience was good but it could have been much better. I’d surely try out this place again and order some of their other fillings (cheese selection, spinach, meat options) as well as other types of pastries (manousheh and fatayer).
