This business was established 146 years ago. The existing tempura restaurant has a beautiful setting around a carp pond and garden in what is a lavish plot of land in the heart of Asakusa. Unfortunately, while the food is okay, the service does not match the surrounds of the menu price. The staff are nice enough, but I'd go so far as to say they are a bit "rough", which is not an adjective one associates with service in Japan. It's like they are tying to be a "fancy" restaurant, but they're not up to the task. You can do much better Daikokuya (a tempura specialist also located in Asakusa).
