I tried out Platform 7's new cafe on the west side of Vancouver yesterday - on West Broadway at Vine. The latte I had was one of the best in the city - comparable to Elysian in quality: rich crema, good and oily, classic chocolaty espresso taste. See the photo below - because it was not only gorgeous for the mouth, but also for the eyes. Food selections are varied: sandwiches, croissants, muffins and some salted chocolate chip cookies that looked divine (I have to go back for those). Staff was friendly, taking the time to talk to me about the single origin coffees and the multiple brewing options, e.g., French press and steel cone pour-over. They offer tasting flights of their single origins, which I will try the next time I am there, along with one of the cookies. Prices are comparable to other high-end coffee joints around town, so not for the budget coffee sippers, but you get what you pay for in a $4 latte. I will certainly return for more delectables at Platform 7.
