Mid afternoon, Tuesday 11th August, we arrived in resort of Perissa, for a 7 day break. Having settled in at our accommodation and stocked up with water a beers at the local supermarket we went for a quick explore of the area. Having walked down to the beach front, up to the big church, followed the road around which led on to the main street. We continued along the road looking at the bars and tavernas that were there. Near to the turning to our accommodation we saw this Taverna and decided it was time for our first holiday Mythos. A large bottle of Mythos was €2.50, the price of beer varied considerably from place to place in resort, €2.50 was near the lower cost. Later that evening we returned to the Taverna for our evening meal. We ordered chicken souvlaki, a moussaka and a Greek salad and 2 beers, the total bill was €22.70, so very reasonable. When the food arrived the moussaka was very nice, the Souvlaki was like processed slab of chicken meat on a skewer, rather than cubes of meat. The accompanying potato wedges were hard and lukewarm warm as was the sauce. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean and on the main road, so good to sit and people watch, sadly the food let it down a bit. We did not go back.
