I'm told Cho Que means "rural village" in Vietnamese and that's what you'll see when you visit this really amazing restaurant. The restaurant is laid out like a little village, with each of the tables are under straw enclosures that look like huts. There's an artificial water well and a little bridge that crosses a man-made river. There are religious statues and even statues of water buffalo and ibises. The manager is very proud of his restaurant and took me on a little tour of it and I fell in love with it. The meat is grilled and served in bamboo, as you'd see in a rural village and the food itself is representative of the kind eaten in rural villages. This restaurant has become my favorite restaurant in Hanoi. I'm grateful for the friends who took me to this oasis because I would never have found out about it on my own.
